1.0 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE!!!!, May 7, 2012
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Sid Meier's Civilization V Game of the Year (DVD-ROM)
I've played Civ 2 through Civ 5. Civ 4 was the best, and Civ 5 is the worst. Ever. If you are new to the Civ series, you wouldn't know what you're missing. If you are a veteran and have half a brain, or actually played Civ 4, you know what I mean.

This game is bugged with black screens, crashes, etc.
Steam sucks. Spyware.
The AI is so stupid. Throughout my games, I've lied to them when I promised to help against an enemy, like dozens of times, and never have any retribution. They are always friendly and never attack LOL.

Stupidest Civ series ever. Anyone here recall the Lords of the Realm series? Civ 5 is like Lord of the Realm 3. Civ 4 is like Lord of the Realm 2.

Do not waste your money.

As a poor student, I paid 50$ for this game. Plus, I bought a brand new Dell XPS desktop because I was worried my old computer was not able to handle this game. However, the game still crashes ALL the time!! I am very very disappointed!!!

Same game in a new wrapper! By what stanard this game became a game of the year is beyond me. It has all the failings of Civ5 (see various reviews on the game), you still have to go through steam to play the game, something that is not advertised. This is a basic game if it is anything. It was not developed by Sid Meier's despite it having his name on it. They have so simplified things that the game is boring beyond belief, that is if you can even get it to run without crashing. The wonders are a wonder why you would even build them, they offer little extra for the expense and time. Having more cities (a larger empire) is counter productive. The smaller your empire the betterr for some of the more useful wonders such as the national bank which appears early in the game (???) but even still building it seems all but impossible since you have to have markets in each of your cities and even if you do it will tell you you dont. Yea a glich that has never been worked on becuase... Read more
