I paid full price for the "expansion", but it is more like half an expansion or an expansion lite. There are a few quests, traits and a good bit of stuff. If you are a long time Sims player it is more like what all those Sims 2 and 3 Stuff Packs should have been. What more can I say? It adds some nice things to the game and a few more quests, but I would suggest waiting until it sells for less. It is way over priced. 32 of 32 people found the following review helpful By Kristen Bernadine (Western New York, USA) - See all my reviews = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles (DVD-ROM) I am probably one of the few fans of the Sims franchise that actually likes The Sims Medieval over The Sims 3. That being said, when I found out that there was going to be an expansion pack for it - I was excited. So I pre-ordered it and paid for one day delivery (even though I've been burned before by the Sims, with Generations...in the long run, that wasn't worth the 40 or 50 bucks I paid for,) thinking 'Oh, this will be different than all the others.'It actually came to my house a day before the release date. And so I installed it, and started playing it. I agree with the notion that perhaps you should wait for the price to drop, because this 'adventure pack' doesn't have all that much to pack. There are a few more outfits, which are pretty cool looking, and now one has the option of furnishing the heroes' houses from scratch (which, personally, I find annoying because it takes so long to do.) And as to the new traits - while being listed under 'Traits,' they... The quests are entertaining and it seems that the quests are longer and more in depth. I loooove the clothes and make-up that they have added, and the fact that there are new achievements, many which make me laugh (make love not war and pirate polygamy just to name two). I look foward to unlocking more clothes and items by fulfilling the new achievements. The only thing I am not thrilled about is the birds. Your Sim cannot socialize with other Sims if they are messing around with their birds which make make quests a little annoying if the objective is to speak to that particular Sim. I also wish that it had come with 2 premade throne rooms, one with pirate stuff, and the other with the noble stuff. All in all, I am glad I have the game and look foward to the next expansion they put out. Hopefully it will come with some new throne rooms, more quests, and maybe a couple of different... Read more |
